The shopping list sorts itself by your shop and learns what you buy regularly. You bring recipes in by link, without all the clutter around them, and plan your week from them. Only what isn’t already in the pantry then goes on the list.
30 days of full access, no credit card. For iPhone, the app is on the App Store; Android is coming — until then, it runs in the browser.
In Proviato, a good recipe is laid out clearly: ingredients, quantities, steps. From there it goes into the meal plan and onto the shopping list.
Paste a link from almost any recipe site. Proviato pulls out the title, the ingredients with quantities and the steps in short form, without the ads around them.
Whatever you like, you save. Saved recipes go into the planning, and you can also put them on a day by hand.
The plan takes off what’s at home. One pot of cream covers one dish, not seven. What’s missing is there as a shopping list per shopping day.
Every household throws away hundreds of francs’ worth of food a year and still buys things twice. Because nobody keeps track in their head of what’s actually at home right now.
Whatever gets forgotten at the back of the cupboard ends up in the bin. Money and food, just gone.
‘Have we still got rice?’ When in doubt, you buy a third bag. The pantry grows, the overview doesn’t.
A flat shopping list forgets what you already have. Proviato tops up from your real stock to your target stock.
No stock levels, no stocktake, no setting up. On day one, Proviato is a shopping list that thinks ahead. Everything else grows in quietly.
First fruit and veg, then chilled, then dry goods. No zigzagging through the supermarket. You set the order to match your shop.
Type ‘yoghurt’ and the Greek one is at the top, because you get it every week. What you buy often moves to the front by itself.
Ticked off in the trolley, but the line stays in its place, crossed out. So you can check, and undo a mis-tap.
If you keep it, you get a list that writes itself. And a cooking suggestion based on what’s really there.
One photo of the shelf, and Proviato reads out the items and sets the stock. No typing. Whatever isn’t in the photo stays untouched. You pass empty packs in front of the camera, and whatever falls below your minimum stock goes onto the shopping list by itself.
Photograph the receipt, and Proviato reads it and books the whole shop into the pantry in one go, including price and shop. Also as a PDF or a screenshot of an online order.
‘What can I cook today?’ suggests dishes from your current pantry. Switch to Vegetarian or Vegan and nothing else comes up. And the meal plan works out for your cooking days what you really still need: first it takes off what’s at home, and the rest is there as a shopping list per shopping day.
Proviato notices that you get bread about every five days, and shows it to you when it’s that time again.
When you open the list, what’s ready to buy again is shown below it. Three items at most, the rest under ‘show all’.
It takes three purchases of the same item, or, for things you rarely buy, two at least two weeks apart.
One tap puts it on the list. Under ‘show all’, ✕ hides it for today. Nothing lands on the list by itself.
Proviato is already a fully-fledged app today, and step by step it’s becoming what a kitchen shelf ought to be able to do: think ahead.
Sorted shopping list, offline too. Shared household in real time, scanning, receipts, cupboard photo instead of a stocktake, quantities per pack, recipes from the pantry and a meal plan that takes off what’s already there. In everyday use today.
Everyone in the household with their own login, all on the same list. Plus shared lists for the office, the club or a party.
For iPhone, Proviato is available as an app on the App Store: in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Belgium and Luxembourg. There it’s called ‘Provi. Vorrat & Einkauf’. It keeps running in the browser as before, on any device. Android is coming.
Best-before dates in view: Proviato tells you what should be used up first and suggests matching recipes. Plus a usage rate that learns from real purchases how quickly things go in your home.
Built for everyday life: fast, works offline, and your data isn’t sold anywhere.
The shopping list works without a connection too, and syncs automatically as soon as you have signal again.
The list follows your route through the supermarket. You decide which aisle comes when.
Provi speaks all four and uses your device’s language the first time you open it. You also set your country — Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France or Italy. It decides the wording within German, French and Italian: in German, ‘Rüebli’ in Switzerland, ‘Karotte’ in Germany. English is British English, with one word list.
If someone at home adds something to the list while you’re in the shop, it’s on your screen straight away.
Things you buy often are at the top as you type. It learns from ticked-off entries and the receipt, not from stocktake scans.
No flat list: Proviato works out how much is missing to reach the target, instead of a blanket ‘one’.
Set your diet, and the kitchen won’t suggest anything else. Including a protein source in the dish.
Runs straight in the browser and can be added to your home screen like an app.
From the receipt, Proviato remembers what things cost. The price history builds up by itself.
No ads, no selling of data, servers in Switzerland. You pay with money, not with your data.
The plan for the week with a shopping list per shopping day, as a PDF to print or keep if you like.
Three litres of milk aren’t one litre of milk. Proviato counts packs and knows how much is in each one.
The salad is cooked close to the shopping day, the rösti is moved to the end of the week. The plan knows what keeps for how long.
For 30 days you have everything, no credit card. Then you decide. If you don’t buy anything, you end up on Free, and nothing is deleted. The list and pantry are free, for good. Receipts, cupboard photos and recipes are read by an AI, and every request costs money. That’s why they come with Pro and above.
